TomTom software on an I-mate SPL Smartphone

Hello,

I've installed TomTom 6 (Navigation) software on an I-mate SPL smartphone
(Windows Mobile 5 OS).
Tru bluetooth the i-mate has a connection with a GPS receiver. In TomTom6
however i still have to select the COM port.

The i-mate hasn't got a touchscreen and with the buttons I can't select the
COM port.
Very frustrating, because I can see the possible COM-ports, I just can't
select one of them.

Has anyone heard this before, or has a solution for this problem?

many thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron

I have the same problem, if you or anyone else has a solution please let me know - mbutcher@standex.co.uk. For info I'm using a Holux GPSlim240 reciever.

Thanks in advance
Mark

AIUI Tomtom 5 is the most recent to support non-touchscreen smartphone
devices.

Apparently you can use a cursor pointing programme (google is your friend,
maybe pocketgpsworld.com, modaco.com) to work around this. Selecting the
com port isn't the end of your problem however as all user input needs
touchscreen and you'll have to use the cursor workaround to enter stuff
like destination addresses etc.

Cheers,
Dave

Cheers Dave

Thanks a lot, it worked. If anyone else needs this help you can find a great cursor program called sphelper and a really great program called MyMobiler which allows you use your pc mouse and keyboard when the smartphone is connected. Just Google the titles.
