| Re: how can you tell a device to use the activesync passthrough? ok, but how. if i select Settings > Proxy, then add a new proxy, how should i set it up? connect from? (work?) connect to (the internet?) Proxy name:port? i suppose that this should be the client IP on my PC, but what should the port be? Type? what should that be? http? user name / password? or are you telling me that i should install a special proxy app on my PC, i.e. that a Smartphone cannot use the ActiveSync passthrough? i have no problem using the ActiveSync passthrough with a Pocket PC, why should it have to go through all that to do the same with a Cingular Blackjack? | Re: how can you tell a device to use the activesync passthrough? Hi, Yes we just need a Proxy setting. Hope you are connected to a LAN. Connect From: Work: Connect To: Internet Proxy(name:port) Give the same IP and Port that you have in your Destop IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Lan connection Type: HTTP Please check. | Re: how can you tell a device to use the activesync passthrough? > Yes we just need a Proxy setting. Hope you are connected to a LAN. i'm using a PC that is connected directly to the internet, via a DSL modem. do i need to set-up a LAN just in order to use the active-sync passthrough? > Connect From: Work: > Connect To: Internet > Proxy(name:port) Give the same IP and Port that you have in your > Destop IE i know the IP, but what is the port? i don't have any port set in my PC, i just have a DSL connection on one side, and activesync on the other side. -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Lan connection there is no proxy server there. my PC is talking directly to internet via DSL. i have no problem using the AS passthrough when i connect any real Pocket PC with AS. it also works with all the Smartphone emulators. but NOT with a real Smartphone. I still don't understand why i need all that to make it work with a REAL smartphone. > > > Type: HTTP > > Please check. > > Regards, > Herojit > > > The PocketTV Team wrote: >> ok, but how. >> >> if i select Settings > Proxy, then add a new proxy, how should i set it >> up? >> >> connect from?
