| I'm lost. How do I do this? I just got a Cingular 2125 Smartphone that's running WM 5.0 with a 2.2" QVGA screen. I've been on Smarthone.net trying to dowload and install some freeware applications just to see how the installation process works. Two that I downloaded were .exe files and after installing them on my laptop I synced my phone and they installed fine. But almost everything else I've tried to download doesn't have any executable file to load. Mostly .cab files that I have no idea what to do with. Some of the things I'd like to do with my phone are change the layout of the homescreen, install new themes, and load some utilities like todo and alarm/stopwatch software. Does the application have to be specifically compatible with WM 5.0? I assumed applications written for SP 2002 and newer would be included in the WM 5.0 compatability list. Am I wrong? The phone company's no help, neither is the documentation that came with the phone or the help on the website. Can someone tell me how to do what I need? |

| Re: I'm lost. How do I do this? Copy the .cab files to the phone. You can do it from "My Computer." Once the file is on the phone use File Manager on the phone to "run" the .cab file. That should install the program. Hope that helps. --- John A.
