I just bought a HTC Touch Diamond and it am very impressed.
My concern is however that programs no longer ask if they may use the
Internet on your SIM card (in this case my sim and network are 3G) they just
do what they need to do without you being any the wiser.

I do have a generous data cap on my phone, however it frightens me that one
day I may get a bill with a huge blowout in data usage because some program I
don't know about is talking to the net all the time when I am on the go.

I remember with GPRS and 2g smartphones they always used to ask if you
wanted a program to use the Internet.. Is there anything like this on WinMob
6.1 when using 3G data services?

Phones don't ask that question anymore. The rule is: if you cannot use your
data account, keep it disabled.
