How to COMBINE calendar events

I use Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 and
Outlook 2003. I created a partnership with my SmartPhone, which is a Pantech
Duo running Windows Mobile 6 Standard.

If I create a calendar event in Outlook, that event appears on the
SmartPhone when I sync. However, if I create an event on the SmartPhone, it
never appears in Outlook, even after I sync. In other words, it is only
syncing in one direction. I need to combine my calendar events when I sync
(which is, actually, how I define "sync").

The problem comes stems from the fact that I use my laptop as my primary
device when I'm home, but my SmartPhone when I'm out. So I need the info
combined.

Also, if I take an event created in Outlook and modify it on my SmartPhone
(e.g. change the time of a meeting), that change it lost when I snyc.

In closing, Vista, Windows Mobile Device Center, and my SmartPhone all carry
the Microsoft brand, but can't seem to work together in the most fundamental
way. Please help.

Re: How to COMBINE calendar events

What selection did you make when you set up the synch? Keep items on device?
Keep items on desktop? Combine?

Re: How to COMBINE calendar events

Shouldn't have anything to do with that setting. That is referenced only
when a conflict is detected. A conflict is a change in the data in an item
on both the device and PC. For example changing the location of the
appointment on the PC and the time or length on the device between syncing.
It wouldn't be involved in syncing a brand new appointment.

I would suggest doing a repair on Outlook psts, or deleting the partnership
completely and setting it up again. (doing the appropriate backups first of
course.) This is not normal behavior. AS and WMDC are always designed to
sync, i.e. combine the data and cross-flow changes. There is in fact no
express way to tell it not to. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I
have heard of this issue.
