| Newbie / WM6 : question on personal E-mail accounts Hi everybody, may be a silly question: how many e-mail account can one set up on a smartphone using WM6 ? I am using an HTC Touch Cruise model. It looks like I can configure N accounts, but only the first two I set set up are working. What I mean is: when I try to access my mail from, say, account Nbr 4, the phone establishes the network connection, but stalls, with always the same message, "connecting...". Anybody? many thanks in advance for your kind help. with Brgds, Daniel |

Good luck, and maybe let us know what mobile phone service provider and e-mail provider you're using- maybe someone here has dealt with those before and might have something more helpful to offer... |

| Re: Newbie / WM6 : question on personal E-mail accounts Thank you so much ,Todd. I check my configuration settings, again & again. Looks normal, but who knows. Could there be a limit imposed /built-in by the mobile phone service provider ? I am using SFR (in France). I didn't succeed in getting a sound reply from their hot line. Need to investigate further. Many tks again for your time and kind help. My mobile provider (T-Mobile USA) blocks traffic on all but the standard e- mail ports. > Need to investigate further. Bonne chance! |

| Re: Newbie / WM6 : question on personal E-mail accounts Hi Todd, I am pretty sure those e-mails accounts use standard ports. Actually I tried to create a new account identical to one of those 2 accounts which work, to no avail. I think I will contact HTC directly. Merci encore pour votre aide ! I had another thought. Each account has it's own defined connection method ("Internet," "Work," "My ISP," et cetera.) Is it possible that the first two accounts have a valid connection method ("Internet" or your mobile provider's data settings, for example) but the others do not? > Merci encore pour votre aide ! Je t'en prie! |

| Re: Newbie / WM6 : question on personal E-mail accounts Bonjour Todd, Many tks for your message. Good thinking, but all the accounts have the proper connection method. I didn't get any reply from HTC yet, but I feel it could be a limitation imposed by the phone service provider. Those people, I guess, put their own ROM in the devices, which means that, may be, the PDA operates somehow differently from the way described in the device operating instructions. It is not a major issue, but as I have several "useful" accounts, I wish I could find a workaround to be able to set up more accounts. Would save me from using the webmail service. By the way, I am very satisfied with this HTC Touch Cruise model. It does everything you may need and is very user-friendly, I reckon. I'll let you know about my findings. True, but I can't imagine how they'd limit the Messaging app in this way. > It > is not a major issue, but as I have several "useful" accounts, I wish I > could find a workaround to be able to set up more accounts.
