| Dash I have had my dash for almost a year. I recently upgraded my system to 6.0 and now its acting crazy. It turns off on its own when I use the internet, send or recieve a picture message, or go into my sim manager. It has even done it mid call. When I send a picture message, it shows the sending icon until I power the phone down (or it shuts off on its own). It also drains the battery within a half hour. I had the phone charging for 8 hours today and it was charged to 100%. Just going on the internet for 5 minutes and the battery was at 39%. I know these are common issues as other friends with the same phone are having the same problem. Is there going to be a fix to this or do I have to put 5.0 back on just to get my phone to work correctly again? |

Did you attempt backing up the device under WM5 and restoringt at backup inWM6? If so, that generally messes up the registry with bug-like results. You really should start from scratch and "rebuld" the"new" WM6 device as if it were new. > It turns off on its own when I use the internet, > send or recieve a picture message, or go into my sim manager. If you're using a micro-SD card, take it out for a day and see if the problems stop. If the do, try backing up the card's files, and reformatting the card in a PC card reader if possible, then reinsert it and see if the device behaves. > Is there going to be a fix to this > or do I have to put 5.0 back on just to get my phone to work > correctly again? There are a few reported bugs with the Dash WM6 upgrade (problems with reminder sounds staying silenced if the phone is put in, then out, of silent mode, and WMP not rotating videos properly cmoe to mind), but I haven't heard anything as bad as you describe. Good luck! |

| Re: Dash I tried taking out the memory card and re installing it. Its still doing the same thing. This is very frustrating and now I'm wishing I hadn't upgraded. I don't even know how to put wm 5.0 back on and T Mobile won't help me. I might just have to get rid of a phone that I love! They do stick with the problem until it's resolved, though, and when their advice is not accurate, I let them know so that they can improve their knowledge base. |

| Re: Dash In September I upgraded my Dash from WM5 to WM6, and less than a week later, the phone was stolen. In those few days, I didn't notice those problems you mentioned. My replacement Dash came with WM6 and I've had none of the problems. BUT that's not the point of this post. Before I performed the upgrade, T-Mobile reps as well as numerous webpages made VERY clear to me that there is NO offical, sanctioned way to go back from WM6 to WM5. The only way I found was an unofficial 'hack' method detailed on various webpages. There are things I preferred with WM5, but I haven't had the courage to try the procedure myself, so I can't say how well or not it works.
