| WM6 Certificate Validation I have a Motorola Q9m with a Spectec SDW-822 wifi card and I am having a hard time connecting to my school's Wifi network. Here is the configuration that they are using. http://www.its.ipfw.edu/wireless/configuration.shtml I can't disable the server certificate as they want me to so it will not connect. Nobody that I know of makes a utility or client for smartphones that will let me connect. Anybody's help would be great. |

| Re: WM6 Certificate Validation If your phone is requiring a server certificate to connect to a WiFi network that doesn't need one, this means that you have set the network security uncorrectly. Check again the way you have defined on the network definitions, probably you need an OPEN network with WEP encryption only. -- ---- Helio Diamant MS-MVP/Mobile Devices Editor - PocketPCFreak.com <CMDarnell******.com> wrote in message news:1194208919.233508.120590@57g2000hsv.googlegro ups.com... >I have a Motorola Q9m with a Spectec SDW-822 wifi card and I am having > a hard time connecting to my school's Wifi network. > > Here is the configuration that they are using. > http://www.its.ipfw.edu/wireless/configuration.shtml > > I can't disable the server certificate as they want me to so it will > not connect. Does WM6 support WPA2? Since there are instructions for the PPC version but its for the Odyssey client, I am trying to mimic those settings but of course WM6 doesn't give half those options to make it work. I am not a guru in wifi or anything and I don't know too much on wireless security so if I am being stupid then just say so. |

| Re: WM6 Certificate Validation I was wrong about WEP, I did not know your network was using WPA2. Anyway, the request for the certificate should be connected to definitions on LEAP or EAP. -- ---- Helio Diamant MS-MVP/Mobile Devices Editor - PocketPCFreak.com <CMDarnell******.com> wrote in message news:1194376422.242134.208260@o38g2000hse.googlegr oups.com... > On Nov 6, 3:11 am, "Helio Diamant - MS-MVP/Mobile Devices" > <he...@nospam.pocketpcfreak.com> wrote: >> If your phone is requiring a server certificate to connect to a WiFi >> network >> that doesn't need one, this means that you have set the network security >> uncorrectly.
