Unable to connect HTC 710 to PC running Vista and Windows Mobility Center 6.1

I've been unable to connect my 710 (Windows Mobile Standard 6) either using
USB or Bluetooth to my laptop running Vista. Windows Mobility Center never
detects the phone (though the OS sees it as either a USB device or a
connected Bluetooth device).

Has anyone gotten this to work?

-Jay

Re: Unable to connect HTC 710 to PC running Vista and Windows Mobility Center 6.1

Hello Jay,
I had the same problem with some devices like the HTC Touch (Win Mobile 6.0)
I tried to connect yesterday
Here's how it worked out for me:

1. Install Device center 6.1, I believe there is even an update on that one
too.
2. Go to Settings on the HTC.
3. Select USB
4. Disable advanced networking
5. connect the USB cable to a true USB 2.0 port -some older PC's still have
lots of 1.1 ports
6. Vista is going to take quite some time for connecting and wil install two
drivers
7. In the end you wil see a succes message -see the JPG-
BTW I did I touch the device center yet!!!
I hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Tony Thijs
Oriolus

I've got a S710 as well as Bluetooth is very flaky in general. This
newsgroup doesn't seem very busy. I'd suggest asking on one of the web
forums such as modaco.

Cheers, Rob.
