No Contact groups?

Is there a way to have contact groups with the Dash/MS Mobile 6?

Re: No Contact groups?

I really need help here.
On my old phone I was able to create groups where I can put my contacts.
I can do the same thing with Outlook. My goal would be that ActiveSync
simply would use the groups and download them into the phone.

However, I can't even find an option on the phone to create such contact
groups.
The only thing I found is the contact property with some predefined options
that I can't change.

Am I missing something?

What do you mean with "Groups"? Outlook supports Categories and categorized
contacts are displayed on Smartphones as well.
In Contacts, press the Menu -> Filter and you get all categories displayed.

Is this what you are looking for?

Re: No Contact groups?

Hi,

In Outlook 2003 I created contact folders which I use to categorize types of
contacts. I also did the same with my previous phone (Nokia) which supported
folders (one way synch at least).
In the meantime I found "Outlook PCS" that could at least download contact
folders. But I'm not sure how well it will work with Outlook 2003 and the MS
Mobile 6.0 phone. Is there anyone using PCS or is there something new?

If I switched my method to categories (from folders) could I create custom
categories and synch both ways?

Re: No Contact groups?

On a standard WM6 device you would sync all categories, but you have option
to view your contacts on the device by category. So they would all be
there, you just don't have to look at them all at the same time.

It is not possible to sync by category or by folder in WM6 using the built
in methods. You did mention an application that handles one of these
scenarios, and I think there are others out there as well, but I have not
used them. I just wanted to make sure you had the information on what was
natively supported.
