I was dead set on ordering a Treo 700w soon but heard something that has
given me doubts. My wife's friend has one and is very unhappy with it since
it locks up frequently. Is this a problem anyone has experienced? Does
anyone have input on Treo700p vs 700w?

I suspect it is more a matter of personal preference (Palm OS vs. Windows
Mobile) and application requirements.

I don't know anyone with a 700p, but I do know several people with the older
650p. And, they tell me their devices lock up quite frequently. I was quite
surprsied since Palm OS is a simpler OS and had a reputation for being quite
solid.

FYI: Devices like the 700w with a touch-screen are in the "Pocket PC Phone
Edition" (AKA "Professional Edition" as of Windows Mobile 6). This
Smartphone group focuses on devices that do not have a touchscreen like the
T-Mobile Dash or SDA.
