| Beginner Question: Certificate problem, code won't run on my Samsung Blackjack am trying to get some code to run on my Samsung BlackJack but nothing seems to work. It complains about not having the appropriate certificates on the device for development. So, I am wondering? How does the process work anyway? I'm thinking that you install a certificate on your device that dictates what signed applications it will allow. So, one of the certificates on the device would have to recognize my application signed with the same certificate. This could totally be wrong. I'm just guessing. Any insight to the problem would be most appeciated. tia, chance. |

| Re: Beginner Question: Certificate problem, code won't run on my Samsung Blackjack I've not used the Blackjack yet but should have one in hand in a week or 2. If you have a problem after you follow the steps below email me or reply here I'll mark the post for followup. Good luck. 1. You need get the file VZW_SpAddCert.exe from Microsoft. Here is the link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en to download the file. I know this was designed for Verizon but so far I have not found it vendor specific. 2. You need to get the Root Certificate for your email server. This needs to be to be in the x.509 format (.cer). 3. Create a Storage folder on the Blackjack in the "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" folder (I beleive this is the actual Root \ location on the device). 4. Copy both files into the Storage folder. 5. From the Blackjack navigate to the Storage folder and execute the VZW_SpAddCert.exe file and follow the instructions to add the certificate. 6. Certificate should be added at this time.
