Seriously though - you need to supply a lot more information in order to get any direct help. For instance, when was it last charged? Could the screen backlight the turned off? Hate to have to ask but did you try putting it on AC power/charge the battery? |

| Re: IPAQ JUST DIED !!!! OK...here's some more info then.. It was on charge ( via USB ) at time of death... It is usually on charge all the time...I use it to sync between my desktop PC & my laptop.. the USB is a "hotsync"... The unit is ( was ) definitely NOT working...not just the screen not coming on...as no power light or anything else is working either ! That said...I did remove the battery for quite a few hours, and this morning I tried to connect again...and it actually vame on ! But was asking to be set up again from scratch...I remember now...it did this to me a few weeks ago,,,I should've twigged then that something was sus... Currently it's been switching it's self off and on...and now all black again...BUT the power light is blinking ( orange 0 ...so i'm thinking it has to be power related...so i think i'll invest in a replacement battery..and see if that solves it... Another interesting thing i've noticed is...te sync cable at my hoffice has one of the little teeth on the side of the plug missing..! This is the thing that holds the sync plug in place...so this could be part of the reason for the sus charging too...as it often loses connection for no apparent reason ( apparent now though )... cheers, Hi-Soft "Barnabas Collins" <BarnabasCollinsonSF******.com> wrote in message news:7mvl03p4dni12qlhmtllufvoaa0eao6acs@4ax.com... > On Wed, 28 Mar 2007 19:52:13 +1000, "Hi-Soft" > <bjcanham-nospam-********.com> wrote: > >>HELP...my IPAQ 1940...just gave a little chime sound, then when i looked >>at >>it...the screen was black...and now it's DEAD ! >> >>Tried rebooting it...but no go...WHAT to do ????? > > Hate to have to ask but did you try putting it on AC power/charge the > battery? > |

(Escpecially if you've got a USB hub.) Maybe the USB port isn't providing enough juice. (On my Ipaq even when it connected to USB I still need the AC adapter to charge it. And this is with the Ipaq being the only USB device at the time. > >The unit is ( was ) definitely NOT working...not just the screen not coming >on...as no power light or anything else is working either ! > >That said...I did remove the battery for quite a few hours, and this morning >I tried to connect again...and it actually vame on ! > >But was asking to be set up again from scratch...I remember now...it did >this to me a few weeks ago,,,I should've twigged then that something was >sus... > >Currently it's been switching it's self off and on...and now all black >again...BUT the power light is blinking ( orange 0 ...so i'm thinking it has >to be power related...so i think i'll invest in a replacement battery..and >see if that solves it...
