Brightness on Dell Axim X51v

Is there a way to change the brightness settings on a Pocket PC
(Windows Mobile 5.0) so that when you are turning it down it grows
dimmer faster so there is a more useable dim than what we currently
have.

What we currently have is that it goes down a little on the slider,
but when you reach the end the screen is basically off.

I would guess (if I can get into the PPC registry) that if you were to
double the values on the downward spiral it might be more useful to
use when the ambient light is dimmer.

Let me know if you can think of something.

Re: Brightness on Dell Axim X51v

This is a major problem witha lot of PPC models. Basically, you can NOT
fine tune the minimal backlight level, as opposed to, say, Palm OS.

I've also addressed this problem at, say,
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=39067 (see the post

The solution: whenever possible, use a black background. For example, if you
use your PDA as an e-book reader, you'll be able to set any color as the
background in a decent reader app.
