Hi there!

I have just bought a used Symbol MC9000K running pocketPC/windows
Mobile.
When I start it, I got stuck in the program AppCenter that only gives
me the choice
to run former applications I would like to get rid of!

As it's used and bought ffrom ebay I don't have the admin password to
neutralize AppCenter and the pocket doesn't want to synchronize with
ActiveSync through USB!

I am really stuck and don't know how to get into the machne and
bypass AppCenter

Could you help me out? what would you do in thatt case? Does
anyone know if it's possible on the MC9000K to reset entirrely the
device, including the flush of /Application and /Platform directory

try AppCenter default password "symbol".

For flushing the device, download the appropriate DCP (device configuration
package) from devzone.symbol.com and load the hex files to your device. In
order to do that, start the device in IPL mode as described in the reference
guide (contained in the DCP).

Thanks a lot for the suggestion Dex,

I tried the default password but with no success! :(

I hadn't thought about reflashing the whole device. It's a great idea.

I will give it a try and let you know.

BTW I have only got an USB Craddle, do you know if I can flash through
USB
link or must I go via serial port only

I realize I am a Day Late and a Dollar short. But if you are still having this problem I can tell you how to solve it.

You will need to reimage the device. You can go to Symbol Technologies: Support- Support
Click the Software Downloads on the left side

Scroll down and click Mobile Computers

Scroll down again and choose your Device model and OS

You said you have an MC9000 so you have two to choose from.

MC9000/9060 CE
MC9000/9060 WM

And fine the correct image for your device. It should look something like this:Microsoft Windows CE 4.2 Application and Platform Images for RFID based MC9060-G-RFID

I didn't give you the direct link just in case you have other Symbol/Motorola devices. You will want to know how to search for those packages as well.
