in mobile word, i get an error message stating that the file can't be opened.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

I have the exact same issue with my XV6700. If I open an existing document
and select NEW from word, everything is fine but the one that opens when you
spawn word from the Word Icon gives me an error. Please let me know if you
find a solution. This is annoying and I don't want to hard reset.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

There are document templates in the main memory \my documents\templates
folder

You can set the default template by tapping options on the

_word file screen_

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

I might have just found it...

open word doc\menu\tools\options\

is this the right place? i'm running WM 5

however, the box for default template is blank, as is the drop down list.
am i supposed to be able to browse to main memory\my docs\templates?

thanks.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

sounds like you found the right place... was trying to underscore that
the options were in the word file list rather than the document options

sounds like you also found the problem... might try creating a blank
pocket word document named "blank" and moving it to templates directory,
soft reset and see if it appears in the list.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

Thanks, Beverly. after i poked around in those options and changed the
location to the storage card instead of main memory, it started working
correctly. not sure what i did, but maybe it auto-created a blank template,
although i haven't found a file for it. but it works, so i'm not going to
push my luck.

thanks again.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

Hmmmm. That seems to have worked. I even changed the default save location
to the Storage Card. Many thanks for the help.

Re: Issue with Word Mobile

That is always their solution. And it would have worked, it's just that it
is unnecessary.
