| ANN: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D In my ten years of running ClintonFitch.com and HPC:Factor.com I have had the opportunity to test many new devices. Some of these have been outstanding and others have been far less impressive. Today, with the world becoming more and more mobile-driven, the demands on these devices is ever increasing. Few have met the mark. HTC however could very well have produced one of the best phones I have ever had the chance to review in the Touch Pro 2. The successor to the 2008 Touch Pro has done some serious growing up and provides users with an impressive user experience from top to bottom. Couple this with some of the high end business functionality built into the device and you have a phone that could well be the only phone business users could need. In my opinion this phone has everything: A great keyboard, great display, an outstanding speaker phone and good battery life. Now with the device on a variety of carriers here in the US, the Touch Pro 2 may be the answer to all your mobility needs. You can read the full review at http://www.clintonfitch.com/reviews/...-2/default.asp Regards, -- Clinton Fitch, MVP-Mobile Devices http://www.clintonfitch.com |

Any sense of whether the Diamond2 has made the same strides? When are they scheduled to be available with AT&T 850 3G radios? |

| Re: ANN: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D Hello, I have a review of the Diamond 2 coming in the next few weeks as well. I was very impressed with that device as well. The two are really aimed at slightly different markets given the Straight Talk in the TP2 while it is not in the D2. As for AT&T, it is my understanding based on what I have seen/read (nothing official mind you - just information my colleagues in the community have discovered) that most of the new devices for them will be out in the next couple of weeks. The Tilt2 will be the AT&T version of the TP2. Not sure what they will call the Diamond. | Re: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D I and a colleague have had this phone for about a fortnight and I would concur except for it use as an actual phone!, To be honest I find it pretty poor even in string reception areas.. In addition I think the micxrophone is poorly placed and moving the phone just sligfhtly from optimal position results in people not being able to hear you.. I've lost count already of the times people have interjected in conversations that they cannot hear me. Ironic that its great as a computing device but doesn't actually perform its primary job well at all. Curious as to what "...poor even in string reception areas..." means. Were the callers from different cities? | Re: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D Hello, Interesting. I used the TP2 in a Starbucks with a conference call going and had very little trouble hearing people or people hearing me. Now I did mute myself when I wasn't talking but that was so everyone could hear each other. I found the communication to be full duplex so people could talk over me, I over them, etc. and we would hear each other. When I used it in a conference room setting it was stunningly good. Did you have a HTC branded unit? | Re: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D Its a Vodafone supplied H/S with HTC and Vodafone etched onto the unit. I suspect my problem is at least partially down to the location of the microphone. As its a large device you tend to have your whole hand wrapped aroung it and that can cover/obscure the microphone. | Re: Review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 and TouchFLO3D "All?" IIRC, they had been down to just one HTC model, the Fuze (Touch Pro I), anyway. Presumably they've sold out of Fuzes and they'll be launching the Tilt II (Touch Pro II) in a few days.
