Duplicate contacts without Touchflo

I've turned off the Touchflo interface on my HTC TP2 because I dont like the
Vodaphone theme and I dont want to change the rom.
I actually prefer the native WM6 interface, but I have an issue with the
contacts display. As all my contacts were imported from my SIM when I
changed phones they now appear twice in the list and I cannot see a way to
tun this off. With TFlo2 on there is an option to only view outlook contacts
but can it be done without Tflo?

Thnx

You should remove them and purge them from the SIM card. I always
use Outlook on my desktop to house and transfer contacts. Now,
you can use the MyPhone backup service from MS to do that. Having
contacts on the SIM is only really useful if moving between a
bunch of phones with different operating systems, but even with
that, syncing with Google Contacts (as most can now do) is better
than what a SIM card can do.

While I essentially agree with your premise that the SIM contact has
outlived its usefulness, I still find it annoying that many newer HTC
phones seem to lack the facility to hide SIM contacts "permanently." My
old Wizard allowed you to hide them via a reg edit, and while my TyTn II
uses the same edit, it resets itself to reshow SIM contacts everytime you
restart the phone.

Now I just use the SIM to hold the network-specific "star code" numbers
that only work from the mobile phone and don't want/need to sync with my
desktop's Outlook, like my operator's customer service number, the number
to get my minute balance, etc.
