Fort Worth, Texas-based RadioShack Corp. and Bellevue, Wash.-based T-Mobile
USA Inc. have entered into a retail agreement that will allow RadioShack to
carry T-Mobile products and services in more than 4,000 RadioShack stores in
the United States and Puerto Rico, according to Wirelessfederation.com.
Beginning this summer, the agreement will allow RadioShack to broaden its
post-paid wireless offerings, and offer customers T-Mobile's most popular
handsets and devices. "RadioShack is focused on growing our mobility
category and is committed to providing our customers with a broad selection
of the best wireless products and services in the industry," said Peter
Whitsett, executive vice president and general merchandising manager at
RadioShack. According to Doug Chartier, senior vice president of sales at
T-Mobile USA, the deal with RadioShack will expand T-Mobile's presence in
national retail stores nearly two-fold. T-Mobile currently operates more
than 1,900 company-owned retail outlets and distribution agreements with
national retailers.
