Re: WM6 Backup

It's more of a matter of shedding light on IF you can backup using any MS
sync product on the PC. No, backup was removed about AS 4.0, about the same
time non-volatile memory appeared. Guess they thought that nothing ever just
disappeared from 'RAM' or the flash card, and all the PIM stuff was being
backed up to Outlook. Who needs backup?

In any case, you will need some third party product like SPB backup, to
backup to your desktop. I'm sure others will post their favorites. There is
also a fairly new option My Phone, which is in Beta still I think, from
Microsoft, that lets you backup a lot of stuff to the great cloud in the
sky. You can find it referenced here.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...t/default.mspx
You might be able to get there with just http://myphone.microsoft.com/ but
when I do it just goes to my phone's page.

I recommend 'Sprite Backup'. It works really well... Never failed to backup
or restore the complete system, both on WM2003SE and WM6, excellent product.

That's almost 2 years old (UPDATE 09/12/2007): ; is the situation still
the same?

Re: WM6 Backup

Yup, roughly the same, except for the increased version numbers. That is,
you'll want to download the latest (current) version of the reviewed apps,
not the ones that were current back then; these are surely compatible with
WM6.
