No backing up for Mobile Edition 5???

I just upgraded my X50v to ME 5.0 and read that Active Sync no longer
provides a "backup/restore" option on the Tools menu. Sure enough its
missing. How can I work around this? I would like to back up the device
but the MS docs of Active Sync don't talk about a work around.

I'll second that. Sprite Backup works very well. It is able to create
backup-files that includes the restore program such that it is unnecessary
to re-install Sprite Backup in order to restore.

Re: No backing up for Mobile Edition 5???

Please read my Backup Bible, it explains everything you will ever need to
know about backing up your device; see
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

There are four backup solutions compatible with WM5, Sprite being, in most
respects, the best (and most expensive). You may, however, defilitely want
to read the Backup Bible to see the differences between these solutions to
see whether you need Sprite at all.

Re: No backing up for Mobile Edition 5???

I used SPB Backup and it worked perfectly and fast. I backup on the device
directly to my storage card, no PC required. Sorry to say, but third party
backup is the only option on WM5.

Re: No backing up for Mobile Edition 5???

I will support the comments on Sprite as well, but you will note you still
have a backup option built in after the upgrade. Look in your Programs.
