eReader (Pro)2.6.4 cabinet file error

I have eBook Pro 2.6.3p installed on my iPAQ hx4700 running 2003SE. When I
download and try to install (through ActiveSync with the Microsoft Installer
file) the most recent 2.6.4 version it tells me that the Pocket PC
installation file is not a valid Windows CE setup file.

Copying the appropriate cabinet file to my PPC and installing it from there
gives indeed the same error message. ("The file "\...\eReader.PocketPC_2003
_and_2003SE.CAB is not a valid Windows CE Setup file.")

The automated reply function of eReader.com ('customer support') doesn't
answer my question and keeps repeating an automated message with well known
installation routines that lead to the error message, not why the error
message appears.

As I never hear someone else complaining about the 2.6.4 release, I assume
something might be wrong on my side; but I don't encounter any problem
installing any other program in my iPAQ.

Anyone having the same problem with eReader (Pro)? Might there indeed
something be wrong with (one of) the cabinet file(s)? I don't know how to
check the integrity of a cabinet file.

Anyone a hint or a solution? TIA.

The vendor is going to have to come up with a solution...

There is a tiny possibility that the filenames are mixed, so, two
suggestions;

Try to open the windows installation file using winzip and see if there
is more than one cab file and try each one...

Find the PC installation folder (_normally_ it's under

\program_files\Microsoft_Activesync

as you should find the cab store there as well.
