how do I remove all calendar items?

I am using a 3rd party calendar that does an over-air sync with Outlook.
How can I go in an delete all calendar entries on the pocket PC?

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

I only want to delete them on the pocket PC, not on the desktop.

The desktop Outlook talks to a web server with calendar info. Rather than
sync to the pocket pc calendar, the pocket pc phone connects to the web and
pulls down calendar info into it's own calendar system.

XpressMail from Cingular

There is probably a file on the pocket PC that contains the calendar data.
I just need to empty it.

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

backup your outlook calendar

sync the ppc

delete all of the calendar items on the pc (tip, set view to category)

sync the ppc

turn off calendar sync

restore the calendar to outlook on the pc

be careful... syncing to the google calendar might wipe out the google
entries depending on settings, so, suggest exporting them from google as
well before you start.

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

Perhaps even easier is to run AS not connected to a PC then go to the
Server tab (under tools/options) then check Calendar where a dialog opens
with a default radio button offering to delete all before the sync. Just
ok this and your calendar will be cleaned (same works with contacts)

I use this for a fresh loading of both calendar and contacts with my
Yahoo versions using their free Intellisync

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

Mike, this sounds right but I don't really follow.

Run AS on the pocket PC without connecting it to a PC?

Tools -> Options -> Server tab? I don't see that? On the PC or pocket PC?

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

When I go there, I only see the PC and all the sync options like contacts,
calendar, task, etc. There is no server tab.

On the Pocket PC, start from the Today screen, then press

Start -> Programs -> Active Sync -> Menu -> Options...

On this screen you can now select what should be synchronized.

I should add that I assume you have a Windows Mobile 5 unit.

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

Yes run AS on the PPC (eg \Windows\ActiveSync.lnk).

Then Tools/Options & "Server" tab (in between "PC" & "Schedule" tabs at
the bottom.

But then wouldn't it sync back to the calender app deleting all
appoinments, which would then sync to the PC and delete them
there?

Re: how do I remove all calendar items?

If you want to clear just the PPC cal then follow my instructions but
make sure that if you want to keep them on the PC make sure on the PC AS
you turn off sync with cal otherwise you will end up deleting all the
appointments on the PC as well!. My advise would be to back them up first
to Yahoo Cal using their free IntelliSync.
