Data loss

Hi,

We are using the HP 4700 with an application that needs to be in the root of
the PDA.
After power loss that application isn't on my HP anymore.
There are some programs to place software in the ROM.
After doing that is my application in the root after powerloss?
If yes, can someone tell me how to do that?
Which program do I need?

Regards,
Leon

Re: Data loss

All data in RAM is lost after power loss.
When you install programs , the default location is main memory n RAM. You
can change this location by specifying IPAQ FILE STORE which is a location
in ROM and will not be lost after power loss.

Re: Data loss

Leon,

The 4700 does have the iPaq File Store which is 80MB of storage on the
ROM (it will be safe after a power lost ~ theoretically at least). But
this will not put it on the device root.

I do not know of any program which you are referring to in your post.
The ability of putting something on the devices ROM will be dependent
on the device and the ability to access the ROM. You can do this on
your device.

The power loss issue of loosing installed programs was resolved with
Windows Mobile 5. On those devices you can loose power and not loose
installed data/applications.

Hope this helps,
