| Email account and outgoing smtp exchange I have two problems with my WM5 email (pop) accounts. First, there is a limit of 4 email accounts. I cannot add any more. Secondly, if I am at a different location logged into a different WiFi service, I cannot change the outgoing smtp data other than change it at the email settings. After which I have to rest again. This is hugely disadvantageous when compared to Palm or Symbian. Hence I need many email accounts just to set up different outgoing smtp values in order to send via different broadband accounts. Appreciate any comment or solutions to this. |

| Re: Email account and outgoing smtp exchange A third party email client might be the best solution for this... wm5 unfortunately broke a lot of things that were working in earlier os's such as the ability to send responses using an alternate account. However, where did the 4 account limit come from? I have not seen nor heard of that before your post... know there is a limit, but it should be much higher than 4. | Re: Email account and outgoing smtp exchange The limit is 5. I hard reset the device to try and set up the account again. A message stating the limit of 5 was shown. Which alternate email solution would do the job?? | Re: Email account and outgoing smtp exchange I've heard good things about QMail, but don't use it so can't recommend firsthand. ppc email has been a bunch of rolling frustrations since it's introduction... so, a couple of thoughts... WebMail interface that's mobile friendly... might see what your provider offers... mine has a good configurable webmail interface named squirrelmail which has saved it's share of bacon over the years... biggies such as Yahoo offer mobile mail interfaces... even if you don't use them as your primary account, you can use them to send emails when nothing else works. Public smtp services which will allow smtp from any connection... (google time) might be problems such as blocking by the receiver or being a subscription service. see if your provider offers smtp authentication for use when outside of their connection hth, Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |

In addition it handles usenet and RSS feeds. (I'm posting this w/QMail now.) |

| Re: Email account and outgoing smtp exchange I have just started using mail2web to automatically download and send emails. But this can be expensive while roaming. I will try Qmail and see how it works. Thanks guys. "AC" <andrewchuang@i-c-cable.com> wrote in message news:eWJm4IlKHHA.1008@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > The limit is 5.
