Palm Treo Newsgroup?

Getting really disenchanted with my PPC (Dell X51v) after a recent two
week trip...unable to connect to several wifi networks
(airports/hotels), having to soft reset, freezes, etc.

Seriously considering a Palm Treo 700P with a data program (Verizon).

Consumer Reports had a review recently and really touted the Treo.

Re: Palm Treo Newsgroup?

Please let me recommend the Treo, it is much more suited to your needs.
Those witty consumer reporters have it right, as failsafe as a microwave and
just as fun.
Please take this unique opportunity to upgrade to the future of pocket
computing.

And most of all, stop trolling this newsgroup and go to a palm one.

You haven't seen a stolen election yet, just wait for PNG in 2007.
Correction it won't be stolen, it will be purchased wholesale.
To mail spam is really hot but please reply to thread so all may benefit (or
laugh at my mistakes)

Re: Palm Treo Newsgroup?

many many Pros and Cons.

I recently "upgraded" from my Axim X50 to a Treo 700w. While having a
Convergent device is awesome, and the on the go Data plan makes life so much
easier, the small screen of the Treo (240 x 240) and the pitiful memory,
makes the device painful to use to anyone used to a large pocketpc. I am
constantly having to reset the device (which, by the way, you have to remove
the battery cover just to hit the reset button). the memory is so bad that
running only the phone app, Verizons Wireless sync app and pocket breeze
today plug-in, maxes out the available RAM and I can only keep one other app
open at a time. i.e...open messaging closes PIE, open calendar closes
messaging, etc... (sucks for multitasking) (and yes, I know the difference
between closed and minimized on the PPC) all in all. If this were my first
PPC I think I would love it, but switching from an Axim to this has been a
tough switch. All in all, the convergent device is worth it, and I usually
just carry the treo around. however if I am planning some "power" work.
(meetings where I take notes, use spread sheets, calculator, calendar and
contacts,) I still drag along the Axim to do the "heavy lifting".
