Dell BT Keyboard Cab Notes & Question

Had to reinstall the drivers for my Dell BT keyboard due to a number of
factors (including the crash of my desktop) and it turned out to be far
less than a trivial matter... so the following for those who install on
the go.

The driver installation _requires_ activesync... afaik, there is no cab
available for download.

The installation aborts if either activeysnc is not installed or, if it
is installed and the device is not connected.

The error message on any abort references "Rapi..." which is misleading,
both with respect to the version of activeysnc and the fact that the
error is not activesync but no device was detected.

The CAB is extracted to the _C:\Windows_ !!!??? folder and is named
Keyboard Driver.PPC300_2577.cab

The above cab installs without problems on the ppc itself.

The stowaway bt drivers do not _appear_ to work with the Dell device...

....but, the Dell install specifically notes to "press
<Ctrl-LeftFN-RightFN> to manually turn on the keyboard and make it
discoverable which might have worked with the stowaway drivers... (I'm
not going back ;-)

==Question========

Has anyone been successful in getting the Dell or the stowaway keyboard
to work on an XP machine?

With the advent of the UMPC (http://umpc.com/Devices.aspx?ClickID=wtb)
the ability to use this there would be nice.

Re: Dell BT Keyboard Cab Notes & Question

Answered my own question... the session before my message failed, but,
went to http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/...bluetooth.html
and gave it another shot and was successful... no driver installs needed.
