Re: Play mp4 files created by 6700 on PC

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the
file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the
file."

Re: Play mp4 files created by 6700 on PC

Hmm, well I don't know what to tell you. I booted up an XP box this
morning, updated to the latest WMP11 (it had WMP10 on initially),
installed ffdshow (the 2006-12-3 version from free-codecs.com) with
default settings, and WMP11 plays your sample fine.

I can only guess that something has gone screwy with the codecs on
your system, preventing ffdshow from working properly. Unfortunately I
have no idea how to go about debugging that, but at least you now know
that it *should* work, FWIW.

Well, that figures. Thanks for playing around with it though.

I downloaded the same exact ffdshow installer and tried again but no luck. I
was able to find a util called MP4Cam2AVI that will convert the mp4 files to
avi. That may be a better solution anyway since I'd like to be able to send
these files to other PC users and know that they'll be able to open them
