| Re: I am programming soft reset the PPC Phone, my device can't start again!!!!! Hi Frank, - What kind of device you have? - Did you try removing the battery and place them back after few minutes? Give us the details of the device such as make & model. -- Chins "frank chen" <frank@ibegroup.com> wrote in message news:1162561729.105187.229940@f16g2000cwb.googlegr oups.com... >I wrote some codes to soft reset my ppc and ppc phone, but when soft > reset the ppc phone, it can't start. | Re: I am programming soft reset the PPC Phone, my device can't startagain!!!!! Sounds like you may have issued a hard reset or worse... First think I would try (after a hardware/stylus soft reset) would be a hard reset. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |

It is a longshot, but not out o fthe realm of possibility. First thing, see if you can hook it up to a host PC and get a connection with Active Sync. IF so, read on. If not, skip down to "Finally"... Now, if it is an ealier PPC you might be able to do a backup - do so if possible. Keep this as a "possible" backup. Second, do a manual copy of an custom data, notes, etc. through explorer. Third, if that above worked do a sync on a computer that has no other information on it. Now, do a hard reset. Next, attempt to restore the possible backup, if available. There is a chance that you will just re-create the issue, and if so then hard reset again. Next, if the backup did not exist (later device ) or if restore re-created the problem, then sync with the computer above to restore the PIM items and do a manual copy of the data, notes, etc. Also, if you can get explorer access there are other backup tools that will let you select what to back up, and a timed demo will help you in this case. Finally, if you cannot get access at all then I forsee a hard reset. In the future make a backup BEFORE trying out custom code. But for now see if the owner has a reasonable backup. Also the PIM data on his host PC (if available) might be enough to get it back in functioning order, assuming that they do not use a lot of thrid party apps with seperate data stores. Sounds like the only extras might be the ones you installed, so might be the best judge of that. Finally, good luck. |
