SPB Insight

First, apologies for not continuing on the oringal thread but it's not
available to me any longer. Reading Clinton's glowing post--and his website
review--of this product, I decided to give it a try and almost love it. I
wonder if anyone has a problem similar to mine and/or maybe Clinton can tell
me if there's a configuration setting I've missed as I'm pretty sure he
listed the Axim x51v (same as my unit) as one of those on which he'd tested
the program.

One of the groups I downloaded for the trial is from the Cincinnati Enquirer
and a couple of the articles appeared like--for lack of a better term--web
pages or html coded. When one of these appears, the program no longer works
in terms of moving to the next article, the previous article, closing the
group or simply exiting the program. I have to open the start menu so I can
go to memory and close down the program from there. Everything else seems
to work like a charm but as I can't find anything related to my problem
either in the options or on the SPB FAQ's, I'm not yet willing to spend
money on it.

Any ideas or help, anyone?

Thanks,
Tim

Re: SPB Insight

Further testing of the product makes me think it's not something with my
setup afterall as this only happens with Cincinnati Enquirer channels. I
tried ten other services/channels and read each item from each channel
without a problem so, based on a one day test, I'm thinking it that one
channel.

Re: SPB Insight

Tim,

Thanks for reading the review first of all. I appreciate it. Yes, I
did test it with my x51v and use it daily on my O2 Atom.

Can you post the link to the feed for the Cincinnati Enquirer? My
initial though here is that it is something to do with that feed
itself and not necessarily Insight.

I assume based on your comments that you are not having any other
troubles with any other feeds? Can you get to
http://www.clintonfitch.com/ressfeed.xml okay?

Thanks,

Re: SPB Insight

Ah, didn't see this before I posted my reply. :-)

If you don't mind, post up that feed for the Enquirer. I'd like to
try it here and see if I can duplicate your results. Then you will
know for sure it is the feed and not Insigh.

Re: SPB Insight

HI,

I don't know how to do that as my only method for using the program has
been directly with the PDA. Here's how I got the feeds:

I clicked "new"
checked "online catalog"
then opened "sports and recreation"

and at this point, if you page down to the botton, you'll see several feeds
from the Enquirer. I specifically tried:

"Local sports" and "High school"

I can't say for sure if what I described happend in both of these but I'm
positive it did in the High school sports. There were a couple of other
Enquirer channels I tried but I don't recall specifics.

Hope this helps,
Tim
