HP iPAQ hx2750: is possible to transform it as a MobilePhone?

Hi All,

I don't know if it is the right group... but I try to post my
question....

is possible "to transform" the iPAQ on the subject to a MobilePhone??

I have found this, http://www.convergentech.com/faq_G1.aspx

will it work???

any other products???

It's possible, but not really practical. You have to use a headset for all
phone calls (the iPaq's built-in speaker and microphone won't work) and the
typical PDA has terrible battery life as it is, without leaving a CF card
powered up all the time (to receive incoming calls.)

Data is slow- the cards support only GPRS (40kbps), not EDGE or UMTS (not
surprisingly- these cards were made five or six years ago!)

In my opinion, you'll be much better off with a simple mobile phone with
better data speeds and bluetooth that you can connect the iPaq to for data
use than trying to kludge the 2750 into being a phone.

Not that I'm aware of. There were various "brands" of those cards back in
the day, But most were the same model or two sold under various labels.

The advent of bluetooth, the loss of CF card slots on most PDAs, and he
introduction of combo PDA/phone devices really killed the market for these
cards, and no newer model GSM cards were ever introduced that I've seen.
