| WM6: how to change a speed dial list entry? I have to admit: WM6 outsmarts me again. I am trying something simple, namely to change one of the numbers in my speed dial list. Adding entries to the speed dial-list is not - as on would expect - done by bringing up the speed dial list and then selecting Menu and doing something like "Add" or "Edit" and then picking the contact to add. No, no - that would be far too easy! One first has to find out, that this is done by going into Contacts first and then, in contact edit mode one can choose to "Add to speed dial". But now I am trying to *modify* an old number in the speed dial list. So I went into contacts and first simply modified the number. This, however, does not "ripple" through to the speed dial list - so that list is obviously not just a collection of references into Contacts. Then I tried to (re-)assign the now modified number to the same speed dial position. This works, but for some reason speed dial isn't impressed and keeps listing the old number. And for some mysterious reason, if I bring up the context menu over the speed dial entry, there is a "Delete" but it is grayed out (i.e. disabled) and an "Edit", which brings up something completely different, namely the fundamental phone settings application where one can change the network or the PIN, etc., but it does NOT allow me to edit that speed dial entry. Another nice example of MS' sometimes extremely intuitive GUI design! ||-( Gosh - I simply want to replace a number in my speed dialing list! But obviously I am to dumb to tell WM6 to do this... Michael PS.: This is on an HTC TyTN II (aka. Tilt/Kaiser) running WM6. |
