| Youtube videos I have a TyTN II, with WM 6.1 installed. It did the same thing with WM6. Nevermind. Moving on. Youtube's mobile site loads. I tap a video, then tap the "watch video" option. HTC's Streaming Media layer loads up, grinds its gears for a while, and pops up a message that says, "Failed to find network." This is with an active WiFi connection running. I've also got Flash player 7 for WM installed, if that makes a difference. |

It is not the connnection speed, 3G [= UMTS] can easily do that. On a budget connection, it seems that the do not permit streams, which logically can be achieved if they close certain internet ports, [like all but port 80 for simple www, port 25 for email, etc.] If you want a complete connection, you pay 3 times the subscription rate. I don't know about Telfort, but it seems "my" Vodafone-NL does it that way. -- Evertjan. The Netherlands. (Please change the x'es to dots in my emailaddress) |

| Re: Youtube videos Guys, you will want to follow my articles - I've elaborated on this problem in several of my articles. In a nutshell: RTSP only works over non-firewalled connections. Nevertheless, you won't want to use RTSP / 3GP at all - go for either Flash or H.264. | Re: Youtube videos > If the pocketpc is on your own wifi network, it should work, meseems. Yup, it should - most (NOT all!) Wi-Fi routers correctly dispatch the RTSP (UDP) incoming packets. Not so with mobile operators, though. This is why Streaming Media doesn't work with you. With FLV or H.264, it would. -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it.
