Tasks Today addin shows 1 overdue item when there is none

Recently performed a hard reset on my Dopod D810 and restored data from
my Outlook 2003 via ActiveSync 4.5 without problem, except for Tasks
shown on Today's screen - there is an overdue item. Opening Tasks to
find out what has been overdue, but there is no such entry. Try resync
with Microsoft Outlook many times but still can't get rid of it (and
there is no error message on ActiveSync)

Is there a way to reset the "counter"? I don't feel like performing a
hard reset any time in the near future.

Thanks

Two things you can try.

1) In Outlook, create a new TASKS folder and move all tasks to
that. Then sync to your device. This should remove everything
from the device related to tasks. undock your device, soft reset
it and make sure the TODAY screen shows no tasks. If none, move
all the tasks back to the real tasks folder and resync.

2) If that fails, delete the partnership in ActiveSync and
recreate it. You won't lose any data on your device. All PIM data
(tasks, appointments, contacts, etc.) will be purged and then
copied over when you create a new partnership on that first dock.
Just tell it NOT to combine anything, but clear off the device.

I hadn't thought of doing these.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Re: Tasks Today addin shows 1 overdue item when there is none

It turned out I didn't have to try either.

I was preparing to try your 1st suggestion and I thought of edit one of
my monthly recurring tasks and sync to computer before attempting
either, and surprisingly the overdue count disappeared. Go figure!

Thanks for your suggestions still - I'll remember next time something
similar comes up
