Adding a number to existing contact from call history WM6

Hello, does anyone know how to add a number to an existing contact from the
call history. I know this is what suppose to happen: Select Start > Call
History. Highlight the desired number from the list and then select Menu >
Save to Contacts. From the Contacts list, select an existing contact or a new
one.

But I do not have the option to select an existing contact. Please help

unfortunately, don't think this has been fixed yet... was discussed
extensively a long time ago.

Think the only option is to save to a new contact, copy the number from
that record, then paste into an existing contact, but, perhaps someone
else will have better news.

Not much of a savings, but, if you sync, you might see if your service
provider provides an online call log.

If so, it might be a little easier to copy out of the online log and
paste into outlook on the desktop.

My HTC Wizard running WM6 has this option, but didn't under WM5. After
selecting "existing" and selecting a contact, you get an abbreviated
version of the normal contact screen withthe name and a drop down box with
all possible phone number choices (Work, Work 2, Home, Mobile, etc.) to
store the number in.

That's how I used to do it as well... ;-)

Hi Todd, maybe i'm slow, lol. But i don't see it. Please assist me step by
step. I think the version of WM6 might not have that option. Thanks

Looking at it now, I'm not sure it's a WM6 function, rather than a function
of the HTC Speed Dial program installed on some HTC phones. In my Call
History I simply hit Menu/Save to Contacts and the list of contacts pops up
with "<New Contact>" in the top row if I want to create a new one.
Otherwise I simply choose an existing contact from the list, and proceed
from there.

That's the real problem with these "cooked" unofficial ROMs floating around
the web- you never know what is a native OS feature, an OEM feature, or some
useful plug-in the cooker installed.

Re: Adding a number to existing contact from call history WM6

I got it. I figured out what I was doing wrong. From the call log I was
tapping and holding down to get a menu and then selecting save to contacts.
Instead of opening the contact and then saving it. I am so happy I finally
got it Thanks.
