| Where are custom rings and voice tags stored (relative toExchange Contacts)? I sync my XV6700 PocketPC (WM5) with an Exchange server. When I set a custom ring and a voice tag for voice dialing for a given contact on my device, does this info make it back to the server (does it live only locally on the device or does it live on the Exchange)? If I restore the database anew or sync to a different device, or even just make a change to a given contact on the server, will these settings be valid still, or are the only local to the device and go away when downloaded from Exchange? | Re: Where are custom rings and voice tags stored (relative to Exchange Contacts)? That information is only stored on the device, it's not synced back to the server. So if you hard reset your device you will need to setup those items again. -- -- Eric Hicks [That_Kid] (MS-MVP Mobile Devices) The MS-MVP Program - http://mvp.support. microsoft.com This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights... Suppose I change just the phone number of a Contact on the Exchange server; this doesn't appear to mess up the voice tags/custom rings. What exactly has to happen to a Contact for this info to be lost - does it have to be deleted or can some other kind of update also wipe it? Mike |
