| E books So now that Smartphones and Pocket PC magazine is getting rid of their e-book version does that mean e-books on the pocket pc are now dead? It's too bad, since it was one of the few things I could actually use with the Microsoft Reader on the pocket pc. I've wondered why Amazon can launch an ebook service as well as Sony but between Microsoft/HP/and others they give up on Ebooks. |

| Re: E books >> does that mean e-books on the pocket pc are now dead? << To quote from an old movie "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" DRM driven by the publishers has effectively killed the market for proprietary works they want to sell and continue to control after the sale. There are a huge number of ebooks in other formats which require installing other reader apps, but, as you have observed, non drm .lit content has been dwindling. Might repost a request for alternate sources at news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ocketpc.ebooks Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |
