Flash Player for Windows Mobile 5 device

I have a PAD with Windows Mobile 5 on it. I tried to find the Flash
Player for mobile devices, but when I got to the Adobe site, all I
could find is a Flash Player for mobile devices that need to be
bought. It has a "Try / Buy" thing on it. Is there a free Flash Player
for mobile devices using Windows Mobile 5? If so, can someone point me
to the link? It may just be that I am not looking hard enough!

Thanks!

As is also linked in from the Flash Bible (
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/men...ashPlayers.asp ; the
premiere resource of everything Flash & Windows Mobile-related), it's at
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/ , freely available for
download.

Re: Flash Player for Windows Mobile 5 device

Is the flash player resource intensive on the memory?

Re: Flash Player for Windows Mobile 5 device

Depends on the actual contents. Action-packed games are; simple banners, in
general, aren't. That is, it's pretty well optimized, taking into account
NetFront independent Flash implementation is WAY worse.

Of course, it's not sufficiently efficient enough to flawlessly play YouTube
videos, not even on the fastest (624 Xscale) WinMo devices. I'm really
waiting for Flash Lite 3 to fix inline YouTube playback. (Dunno when it'll
be released for WinMo and it can be used independent of the "big bother"
Flash 7. I don't think the latter will be the case - at least Opera Mobile
can only use one of them at a time, not both.)

Re: Flash Player for Windows Mobile 5 device

There is an FLV plugin for TCPMP. Don't know if can play streaming video or
not.
I have downloaded YouTube video and it played ok. Here's a link:
