| Windows Mobile 5 bluetooth connexion Hello I was formally using an ASUS MyPal, with Pocket PC 4.20 . To connect to the internet, I use my Nokia 6300 phone, by the mean of a bluetooth network connection. It works great. I bought recently an Airis T620 PDA, with Windows Mobile 5, and I can't do the same, it discovers my Bluetooth network Access, but I can't activate it, in order to use my GPRS connexion. I welcome every suggestions. Thanks |

| Re: Windows Mobile 5 bluetooth connexion Let's make this straight. You're referring to BLuetooth DUN, and not BT PAN. They're completely different. BT Dial-up networking (DUN) is what the Nokia is offering (no Nokias have gone *exclusively* the PAN way, which, unfortunately, can't be stated about Windows Mobile). Are you absolutely sure that your new Airis can't see its "Dial-up Networking" feature? What services do you see when you click the Nokia from inside the Bluetooth device list? Can you post a screenshot of it? -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. | Re: Windows Mobile 5 bluetooth connexion So, you've discovered the DUN service & defined a connection just like under WM2003. Note that actually starting a connection, as has also been pointed out in some of my articles, is done differently under WM5 than under WM2003: in the Connectivity bubble, there's no connection link to click. You must rely on the individual programs' activating the connection themselves - or, alternatively, you can start them from the Connections menu, using the Connect context menu item (this requires a LOT of taps). Isn't this difference between WM2003 and WM5 that confused you? -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. | Re: Windows Mobile 5 bluetooth connexion I think I was not clear. I usually only activate my Bluetooth network connection. And I have internet. I do not need to create any dial up connection . Just activate a network connection. | Re: Windows Mobile 5 bluetooth connexion This is a bug in Windows CE - there is a problem with retrieving values from the registry. You can work around it by opening the bluetooth applet in the control panel, removing the connection from the Trusted list, and then scanning for, making trusted and activating the connection all in one go (without closing the applet). -jnnnnn |
