| iPaq 4155 On/Off Problem I cracked the touch screen and LCD on my 3-year old iPaq 4155, so I sent it in to PDASmart for replacement of both, which they did. It was working fine otherwise before I sent it in. It came back with the battery dead. So I restored everything from the backup program on my SD card. I noticed when charging that the orange light flashes 3 times and then stops. It will continue to flash only if the unit is left on while charging. I don't get the green light that shows that it's fully charged. Once charged, I turn the unit on and off several times, and pretty soon, it will no longer turn on. Nothing happens when I hit the power on button. I have to connect it to the external charger to get it to start turning on again. The battery shows a full charge. Could this be a battery issue, or is it possible the cracked LCD screen affected something else internally? Thanks! Scott |

| Re: iPaq 4155 On/Off Problem Did you leave in the battery while sending it in for repair? If yes, then, it might have been COMPLETELY depleted, which may denote the death of a Lithium-Ion battery, especially that old. -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. It came back with no juice in the battery. Earlier today, the backup battery showed 100% charge. Now, it's at 20%, while the main battery shows 62% charge. When I connect to the external charger, the unit switches on with no problem. When I called the repair facility, they said it could be a worn out battery or the motherboard. Do these symptoms sound like a bad battery? Would a bad battery charge to 100%, which it did earlier today? Thanks! Scott |
