| Pocket PC connection using GPRS Hi, I am trying to connect using a Nokia 6310i and GPRS. I previously had this working both on my laptop and with my Palm TX. I have changed laptops and bought a Pocket PC to replace my Palm TX. I now can't connect, the bluetooth connects to the phone and the phone tries to establish a GPRS connection. It then disconnects with the message "subscribe to GPRS first." The phone IS set up for GPRS, but I still couln't get the connection to work. I switched back to my Palm TX and used the Network Connection wizard, after a few clicks, "bingo" the GPRS connection through the phone works fine with the Palm TX! All I can assume is that there is something wrong in the set up on both the Laptop & the Pocket PC. Any ideas? Thanks, Charles Turner |

Perhaps this helps: http://modernnomads.info/wiki/index....or+your+laptop Perhaps you need a specific dialing string, but that is dependent on your Nokia... -- Jaap van Ekris Microsoft MVP Mobile Devices http://modernnomads.info |

| Re: Pocket PC connection using GPRS Hi Brett, Thanks, but this dosen't work either, not too surprised as my Palm DOES work with the existing phone settings. So still at a bit of a loss as to what to do. Thanks once again, Charles > I had this problem and it was down to the phone settings.... > I had to > Edit active access point > Alias for access point: orangeinternet > and also set > GPRS access point: orangeinternet > > Both need setting. > |
