| POP3 Emails Delivered to Windows Mobile 5 Phone Appear As Read When Delivered To Outlook Hello All, I have a user that has a Windows Mobile 5 phone (version 5.1.195). I setup a POP3 mail profile on the phone to retreive e-mails from our Exchange 2003 Server SP2. The user did not read/open the e-mails on the phone. The user is using Outlook 2003 SP2. When the e-mails deliver to the user's Outlook 2003 .pst file (meaning the e-mails that were on the phone/Exchange server mailbox are removed from the mailbox on the Exchange server and moved to the user's .pst file), they deliver as being read. The user does not have the preview pane enabled in Outlook 2003. Any help regarding this is appreciated. Thanks. |

| Re: POP3 Emails Delivered to Windows Mobile 5 Phone Appear As Read When Delivered To Outlook POP3 doesn't have the concept of flags on messages. A message is considered read, according to the POP3 protocol, when it is downloaded. if you want to avoid this, use IMAP instead of POP3. -- Help stop the genocide in Darfur! http://www.genocideintervention.net/ |
