I have Windows Vista and can not find \windows folder on wm5. I have
changed the files to show hidden but still can not find it. Looked
all
over google and no luck, can someone please help me?
I think I am going crazy.

Hi,

You will need to disable "Hide protected operating system files" in the
Folder Options (where you set it to show hidden files) to be able to view
the Windows folder on the computer.

It's clear but it is irritating. That is a universal setting, i.e. not
specific to the folder. That means to get into the Windows folder on a WM
device, and do management and maintenance on things like the Start Menu and
Startup Folder, moving shortcuts, eliminating duplicates, I now have to look
at ghostly desktop.ini files cluttering up my desktop.

I'm not sure, but I think it's possible that the attached PPC windows
folder was not being perceived as a system folder on the early versions
of the pocketpc.

Questions on this didn't start until a few years ago, so, early adopters
were possibly exposed to open access to the folder, then, when it
disappeared with later versions of ppc and activesync, it wasn't clear why.
