Apologies in advance for this basic question which shows my lack of
knowledge.

I have a TyTn II pda and have coupled a bluetooth gps unit (jrt 29).

I have followed Keni Barwick's instructions on changing the registry
to access the GPS control -

Do I also need a driver for the gps unit (instructions from hong kong
useless) I think it is a BT unit - it says BT on the front.

What is BT?

I am not sure about com port settings and baud unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

BT or Bluetooth is a "serial" protocol using wireless radio to communicate.

Assuming that the device has it's bluetooth references and registrations
correct, no additional driver is needed as the gps' satellite data is in
ascii format.

First, the ticket is getting all of the BT pieces in order, working and
assuring that the gps program has the ability to see and connect to the
BT serial port... depends on the program, but there is normally an
option to either select a comm port or to manually set it... all of this
will occur _after_ you establish and maintain a BT "partnership" ...
the comm port does not exist until this is done.

The same is true after you connect... the best approach is to use the
defaults, if that doesn't work, determine the default for the receiver
and manually set the software to that baud rate.
