Activesync and Windows Mobile 5 - continous syncing

Hi,

I wonder if I am the only one who is irritated on the permanent
synchronisation?

I hate that. I am using a filemaker database and while the
synchronisation is doing a job (nobody knows what it is syncing because
there are no changes ...) I can not access my database, so I have to
wait for Activesync.

I thought the times we have to wait for a computer are history, but
Microsoft shows that we can fall back.

So please Microsoft > bring out a new version without that permanent
synchronisation! It is time wasting!!!

Best regards

I know I've found, and set, an option to choose between continuous,
manual, and at connection. And I _think_ it is in
ActiveSync->Tools->Schedule (on the desktop). But I just tried, and
found that item disabled.

A third party utility and other hacks have been posted here, but I don't
remember most of them, so search this forum using google groups and you
should be able to spot it.

I have a couple of kludges on my site at

Thank you for your information. The registry keys are not working for
me, may be it is because I am not an admin.

I found the commandline options and I use

"C:\Programme\Microsoft ActiveSync\Wcesmgr.exe" /quit
and
"C:\Programme\Microsoft ActiveSync\Wcesmgr.exe" /show

to stop and start syncing now.

Brilliant, but, where the hell did you find those??? People have been
stuggling with this for almost a decade and yours is the only reference
I have ever seen to any command line options.

Are there any other switches?

Thanks,
