Anyone tried HTC x7500 advantage?

I have Ipaq 4700 and I am thinking upgrading to HTC x7500 advantage -
the main selling point is 5" screen.
The thing I don't like in HTC is the same processor as in my Ipaq - my
Ipaq is veeeeeeeery slooooooooow.

Re: Anyone tried HTC x7500 advantage?

It's because of the WM5 upgrade (did you read my related articles? it can be
made pretty quick if you do follow my recommendations), not because of the
"slow" CPU.

That is, there're no problems with the speed of the new model either.

Zalek,

Head over to http://www.geardiary.com. Judie has one and has already posted
her initial thoughts on the Advantage.

Werner,

I read your blog http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
You are a genious and a life saver. Why a life saver? Because few
times I got so pissed off with its slowness, that I tried to break my
Ipaq 4700 on someones head - now thanks to you heads of my family and
my co-workers are safe!!!
Anyway - I read your site and decided that first I need to find a
process that is stealing my CPU. Following your advice I bought
SuperTasks - and very weird thing happened - after installation my
Ipaq (Windows Mobile 2003) runs much, much faster.
On my Ipaq the biggest CPU eater is services.exe, but max it is taking
is 14%.
SuperTasks is not great - it does not sort tasks by CPU consumption.
Can I use hacks you found for WM5 on WM2003?

Thanks again,

Zalek

Re: Anyone tried HTC x7500 advantage?

1, thanks!

2, are you running ROM version 2.01 (or 2.03)? If not but the original 2.0,
you WILL want to upgrade.

3, the hacks are WM5-only. There's no point in using them under Wm2003SE as
they won't help at all.

4, if you need the BEST system / CPU usage tracker utility, look for the
brand new acbTaskMan. (The hx4700-related articles still refer to the
SuperTasks because, at the time of writing, acbTaskMan was still not
available.)
