| Hello there guys and gals, I'm here to learn a few things about my computer. Honestly I'm really sick of feeling stupid when talking to any type of tech support or asking my kid for help. I have a basic understanding of my computer, but as I said technology is advancing everyday and I seem to have been left in the dust. What I don't know I try to Google and learn about. So please be kind and make the answers baby-like (although my 13yr kid knew more in first grade than I have learned at 32) So ... Here I am. wanting to do this learning thing. So I'll start here: I have notice that a lot of things have to do with regedit. I have had to some things - like virus removal, to the regedit. (of course it's NEVER without A B C instructions) But this made me curious. To me, it just looks like nonsense, but I know that it means SOMETHING. I looked up words like Reg_dword (double word) and reg_binary (0's and 1's). But what does it all mean? How do you read it? Can any one explain it to me? Is there a book? A tutorial? Thanks G_Ivy |
