I have a Fujitsu LT C500 that I had a problem with the OS, which was originally 98 SE. I had to take the hard drive out and reformat it, then reinstalled it. I was of the understanding that the usb port was bootable so I plugged in my external cdrw to begin the reinstall of the OS. It didn't start and I couldn't get to the cd. I went into the bios to change the boot sequence but it only gives the option of floppy or hard drive. I tried loading the OS onto the hard drive while in another machine then reinstalling it. That didn't work either. Any suggestions??? HELP

Sounds like a bad drive. Was that drive recognized in another system?
