The Foundation achieves its aims by:

• promoting the effective use of personal computers and associated technologies in building powerful learning experiences;
• creating and sustaining a community interested in universal access to personal computers and associated technologies for learning;
• educating and training teachers and school leaders regarding excellent use of technology in learning;
• serving as an information clearinghouse for educators, policy-makers, industry and members of the media interested in one-to-one computing in education;
• sponsoring research regarding the benefits and effective practices of one-to-one computing in learning; and
• promoting public awareness regarding the benefits of universal access to technology.
