Water spilled on keyboard

My wife spilled last week water over the keyboard
of her Acer Travelmate 802

3 keys do not work any more.

Any possibility for rescue actions
or should I order a new keyboard for her notebook?

before ordering new kbd try to take out the old one and check for water
residues, if present - try to dry it out

you have nothing to loose

Re: Water spilled on keyboard

There is a chance that it will work after it dries out completely (could
take up to 7-10 days), but most likely you will have to replace the
keyboard. You are lucky; in most cases, people who spill water into a
laptop end up having to replace the laptop.

[use an external keyboard while waiting to see if drying out works]

[a very few laptop keyboards can be taken apart, but the number is VERY
few. If you could do that, you could probably repair it.]
